Clinical Research Collaborative

The Forsyth Clinical Research Collaborative is an association of individuals who conduct and participate in clinical research in oral and craniofacial diseases. The facility conducts clinical and health care delivery research. The Collaborative supports the clinical research needs of all departments at the Forsyth Institute, including the Center for Evidence-Based Dentistry (Dr. Richard Niederman), the Biostatistics Core (Dr. Ralph Kent, Jr.), and the Laboratory of Applied Photomedicine (Dr. Nikos Soukos). Many practicing clinicians and clinical investigators from other institutions fulfill their interests in clinical research through appointments to the Collaborative.

Areas of research include:

The Forsyth General Clinical Research Center

A strong association between the clinical research group at Forsyth and clinical investigators at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has been established through a grant from the National Center for Research Resources. This grant created the Forsyth General Clinical Research Center Satellite, which supports clinical investigation at Forsyth and an outpatient clinic at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The Forsyth Research Satellite also investigates associations between oral and systemic disease, including diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease and inflammatory bowel diseases.
