Volunteers needed for a dental study 

The Forsyth Institute Clinical Research Center in collaboration with ForsythKids Program is looking for children ages 10-14 years to take part in a clinical study testing an investigational toothpaste for prevention of tooth decay in children.

(Duration of study participation: 1 year and 5 visits are required) 

Where: The Forsyth Institute Center for Clinical and Translational Research, 245 First Street, 17th Floor, Cambridge MA 

What will happen at the first visit? We will: 

  • Review your child’s medical and dental history 
  • Examine your child’s teeth, gums and mouth 
  • The screening exam will last 15-20 minutes 

If your child is found eligible and willing to participate, your child: 

  • Will be enrolled and randomized (by chance) into one of the study groups. 
  • Will receive the assigned study products (toothpaste and toothbrush) with instructions of use. Your child will be seen every 3 months up to 12 months for repeated exams. 
  • The Study visits will take about 30-45 minutes. 
  • Total of $400 compensation will be provided to those who complete all 5 visits. 
  • Forsyth Clinic and clinicians are following the recommended COVID-19 safety measures including but not limited to using appropriate PPE during patient exams
